Panel upgrades

Make room for the way your house works now.

A 100-amp panel may have been enough once. Add an EV, heat pump or a growing family’s worth of electrical use, and it may no longer be the right fit.

When to look closer

Signs a panel may need replacing.

  • A panel brand with known breaker problems
  • 100-amp service before adding an EV or heat pump
  • Scorch marks, heat or a burning smell
  • Breakers that repeatedly trip or will not reset

What to expect

A clear plan for a full-day job.

Ted looks at the existing equipment and the load your house needs. For a replacement, he handles the permit and inspection process with the City of Fort Collins or Larimer County. Plan for one day with the power off while the new panel goes in.

Typical 200-amp replacement: $3,200–$4,800.

That range includes the permit. Ted will inspect the site and explain the actual scope before you commit.
